Pure Pets is located in beautiful downtown Brevard, NC at 31 S. Broad St, one block West of the County Courthouse. Brevard is a small Mayberry-ish town situated in the Blue Ridge mountains between Lake Toxaway and Asheville on Highway 64 - minutes away from some of the country's best hiking trails, wildest rivers and hundreds of waterfalls ~ all that and only 20 minutes from the Asheville Airport! We supply the dogs and cats of Transylvania county and the surrounding counties with the best holistic and organic foods available on the market today. People and their pets come from Greenville (SC), Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, Hendersonville, Sylva, and Asheville to see what new goodies we have "in store".
The concept for Pure Pets grew out of a big love for animals and a need for better ways to care for them. Our mission is to enhance the relationships between people and their pets and provide the best nutrition possible for dogs and cats along with the other goodies that make life with our pets so much fun! We have an enthusiastic staff with years of experience in natural pet health care and positive training. Everyone who works at Pure Pets believes that natural pet rearing is best and we are always happy to share our knowledge with you and your pets. We are constantly researching foods and products to be sure we have the healthiest and best options available.
We are proud to carry only foods that have NO Wheat, NO Corn, NO Soy, NO By-Products, and NO Harmful Preservatives! Most of the foods we carry cannot be found at the big chain pet supplies, the grocery store or department stores ~ and most are made here in the USA or Canada and some are even made locally. We do not carry foods made in China. We feel it is very important to give our pets, and yours, the best foods possible in order to prolong their lives, reduce chronic illnesses, possibly reduce our vet bills, and make our pets generally happier and healthier! If you are in need of a dog trainer, animal behaviorist, groomer, veterinarian, pet-sitter, boarding facility, or any other animal services just ask our staff. We make it our job to know who's the best in town!
One of our passions is Animal Rescue Work. We are involved in monitoring our county's progress with building the new county animal shelter. We hold adoption drives and we network with local and long-distance rescue groups and the fostering community so that no animal has to live, or die, in the county shelter. If you are in the market for a new pet, instead of buying from a pet shop please come see our "Adoption Wall of Fame" with pictures and descriptions of available dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. We believe that most pet shops who profit from selling dogs and cats are supporting puppy or kitten mills. Please Google search "puppy mills" to learn more about this horrible practice of over-breeding and abuse. Resist the urge to "save" a puppy or kitten from a pet shop and think about getting your next pet from the shelter, a rescue group, or a responsible breeder. If you don't see a pet on our Wall that suits you just ask our staff ~ we often know of fostered pets who are ready to connect with their forever family!
